A royal expert has claimed that Prince Harry is desperate for Meghan Markle to get back in contact with Princess Kate after her recent Photoshop scandal.
Harry is said to have issued his wife a four word plea to “reach out to Kate”, as if their olive branch is accepted it could lead to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex being welcomed back into the royal fold.
A source told OK! magazine: “Harry is keen for Meghan to reach out to Kate and lend her support. Harry wants his family to return to the UK and he knows that the only way that will happen is if Meghan can repair her fractured relationship with Kate.”
A picture released by Kensington Palace of Kate and her three children to mark Mother’s Day on March 11 was later pulled by picture agencies over concerns it had been tampered with.
Kate later apologised for editing the picture herself, as she said in a statement the following day: “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing.
“I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C.”
It has been a difficult year for Princess Kate as she has remained out of the spotlight while she recovers from abdominal surgery which she underwent in January.
One insider close to the Sussexes claimed they would have been “annihilated” if they had been caught out editing their images like Kate, however this has apparently not affected their feelings towards the Waleses.
The source told the publication: “Nobody from the Sussex team or even close to them has made any negative comments about Kate.
“In fact, Harry thinks it might be the perfect time for Meghan to reach out to Kate because she knows what it’s like to come under fire from the public and the press.
“Kate has always been extremely popular, so this is new territory for her but not for Meghan. It could turn out to be a real bonding moment for the pair.”
Harry made a brief visit to the UK in February after learning that his father King Charles had been diagnosed with cancer, and has made it clear he would be keen to visit more.
Meghan may be less happy to return to the UK, however they may be back on British shores fairly soon for the 10th anniversary celebratory service for the Invictus Games at St Paul’s Cathedral.
Their presence has yet to be confirmed, and it is also not known if they will bring their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet over either.
