Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s strategy this Christmas is “reconciliation” with King Charles following months of strained relations between the Sussexes and Royal Family, a well-placed source has claimed.

Omid Scobie’s book Endgame has sparked a furious backlash after making several controversial claims against the Royal Family, triggering more doubts about whether a reconciliation between the Sussexes and the royals is actually possible.

While it is highly likely Harry will not be spending Christmas with his father, he is reportedly still planning to reach out to the 75-year-old, along with his wife Meghan Markle and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, from their home in Montecito, California.

Page Six cited a “well-placed source” source as saying: “Harry and Meghan’s new strategy is reconciliation.”

The Duke of Sussex, who will celebrate his 40th birthday next September, is well aware of the “shifting sands of time”, according to the publication.

Relations have been extremely strained between the Sussexes and the Royal Family since they relocated from the UK to the US in early 2020.

Harry and Meghan made a string of claims against the royals, beginning with a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021 that sent shockwaves around the world.

The couple’s six-part documentary series on Netflix was released in December 2022 before Harry made further claims weeks later in his tell-all memoir Spare.

The Duke of Sussex is not believed to have spoken to Prince William in more than a year.

He has returned to the UK on a handful of occasions in recent months but reportedly didn’t meet with his father or brother.

However, Harry and Meghan are believed to have called the King on his 75th birthday last month, with grandchildren Prince Archie, 4, and sister Princess Lilibet, 2, even singing down the phone to their grandfather.

This week, King Charles filmed his annual Christmas Day speech, which will be broadcast in the UK on December 25 at 3pm, and shown on stations in Commonwealth countries including Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

But he reportedly didn’t mention Harry or Meghan in the recorded speech at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
