Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been slammed for their “completely unpredictable” and “untrustworthy” approach to life outside the Royal Family.

As the festive season draws near, it was revealed that Meghan and Harry will not be attending the Royal Family’s Christmas celebrations, which they have not been a part of since 2018.

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams has called into question the reasons why the couple were snubbed of an invite, suggesting the Royal Family would have to be on high alert if they were to have them round.

In an exclusive interview with GB News, Fitzwilliams cautioned of the instability Meghan and Harry bring, something that the Royal Family naturally want to avoid, especially at Christmas.

He specifically pointed to them being “completely unnpredictable” and “untrustworthy” – the main factors preventing them from being part of The Firm’s festive celebrations.

He said: “The Sussexes are completely unpredictable. They’re also untrustworthy. This is not a background on which you could have a relaxed Christmas. You can’t trust the Sussexes … The answer certainly is to keep them at arm’s length.”

Fitzwilliams’ comments coincide with Prince Harry’s eleventh-hour attempts to mend fences with the Royal Family, aiming to spend Christmas with them for the first time since 2018.

However, Fitzwilliams cast doubt on the sincerity of Harry’s reconciliation efforts, referencing the prince’s past critical remarks made during television interviews and the release of his book, Spare.

The question of whether to extend an invitation for a harmonious holiday gathering becomes not just a matter of family dynamics but also a consideration of the potential discomfort and unease that might accompany the presence of Harry and Meghan.

The delicate balance of maintaining tradition while acknowledging the evolving dynamics within the family becomes increasingly challenging, esepcially in the fallout of Omid Scobie’s tell-all book Endgame.

Fitzwilliams argued that the media “circus” surrounding the couple, including controversies surrounding Prince Harry’s book, court cases, and the so-called “near-catastrophic car chase,” is likely to overshadow the reign of King Charles.

He said the Royal Family does not want anything to draw attention away from “unity” – what he claimed would be the focus of the Royal Family’s Christmas celebrations – and so Meghan and Harry will have to make their own plans again this Christmas.
