Princess Caroline of Monaco, the daughter of Prince Rainier III and Princess Grace of Monaco, married Stefano Casiraghi in a Civil Ceremony in the Chamber of Mirrors of the Prince’s Palace in Monaco on this day in 1983, 40 years ago, followed by a Palace Balcony. Princess Caroline was previously married to Philippe Junot and later married Prince Ernst August of Hanover.

The couple had three children; Andrea Casiraghi, Charlotte Casiraghi, and Pierre Casiraghi, and remained happily married until his tragic death in 1990.
