The Wedding of King William Gabula Nadiope IV of Busoga and Jovia Mutesi was celebrated in Bugembe, the Capital of the Kingdom of Busoga, on November 18th, following a traditional ceremony in September. This was the first Royal Wedding in Busoga since 1956, and Queen Jovia becomes the 5th Queen of the Busoga.

King William Gabula Nadiope IV of Busoga married Jovia Mutesi in an Anglican Ceremony at Christ’s Cathedral in Bugembe, the Capital of the Kingdom of Busoga, on November 18th, presided over by the Archbishop Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu.

The Wedding Ceremony was followed by a Procession back to the Royal Palace in Igenge, where a lavish Reception was held.

Royalty from around Africa were among the 2000 guests in attendance at the Wedding, including Queen Sylvia of Buganda, Queen Best Kemigisa of the Tooro Kingdom, Paramount Chief of Acholi (Centre), Laworwodi Rwot David Onen Acana II, and Royal Guests from Swaziland.

King William Gabula Nadiope IV is the Gabula of Bugabula and the reigning Kyabazinga of Busoga, one of five sub-national constituent Kingdoms in modern-day Uganda.
