The Prince and Princess of Wales are known to have sweet nicknames for one another, but a cheeky nickname that Princess Kate had for her husband is one that she wouldn’t get away with now.

The pair have had a various famous nicknames for one another across their more than 20-year relationship, with Prince William previously heard referring to his wife as “Babykins” or “DoD”, which stands for Duchess of Dolittle.

But, according to The Sun, Princess Kate has had two nicknames for her husband, which are reported to be “Baldy” and “Big Willy”.

At recent engagements, the pair have been known to use more conservative ones, much more fitting for a professional environment.

At The Chelsea Flower Show in 2016, the couple were heard calling one another “babe” and “darling”.

At the time, landscape gardener Charlie Albone told Grazia UK that William asked Kate about a plant, to which she replied, “Babe, we’ve got those. We’ve got loads of those.”

At the same show, one of the designers revealed to HELLO! that William stopped to look at some poppies before asking his wife, “Could you make one of these, darling?”

When he was younger, Prince William was known to have had a variety of nicknames, especially by his late mother and during his university days.

Although he enrolled as ‘William Wales’ at the University of St Andrews, he chose to go by a very basic name – Steve.

William is also known to have been nicknamed as “Wombat” by his late mother as a child and is one that he “can’t get rid of” now.

In 2007, during an interview with NBC, William’s spoke of his mother’s unusual nickname for him.

He said: “It began when I was two.

“I’ve been rightfully told because I can’t remember back that far, but when we went to Australia with our parents, and the wombat, you know, that’s the local animal, so I just basically got called that, not because I look like a wombat, or maybe I do.”
