The Prince and Princess of Wales will likely not be staying at the main Balmoral Castle next week – instead opting to stay at their own “private” hideaway on the estate.

Even though the 50,000 acre estate offers plenty of rooms for the family-of-five, Prince William and Princess Kate will likely stay at a cottage known as Tam-Na-Ghar with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Travelling to spend quality time with their children and extended family – such as the King and Queen – the couple’s likely residence was previously gifted to William by his late great-grandmother, the Queen Mother.

The home boasts three bedrooms and is within close proximity to Birkhall, which is King Charles and Queen Camilla’s residence.

Tam-Na-Ghar is known to be the perfect location at Balmoral for Kate, William and their children – with very few pictures publicly available of the home.

With the King set to host his second annual summer at Balmoral, the estate was previously known as a much-loved place of the late Queen Elizabeth II.

It is located approximately 50 miles east of Aberdeen, and is nestled between Ballater and Braemar.

It is a long-standing tradition for the Royal Family to spend time there every summer – and offers them a private place to hunt, horse ride and fish away.

As exclusively revealed by Express.co.uk today, Queen Camilla headed up to meet King Charles at Birkhall on Friday.

Speaking of the couple being reunited at the place they had their honeymoon back in 2005, the source added: “Camilla has been spending time with her family over the past few weeks and headed up to meet Charles just before the weekend.

“Birkhall is like a second home to both of them, they absolutely adore it. Not only is it where they had their honeymoon but also where they both enjoy spending time together away from prying eyes.”

Princess Anne and her husband Timothy Laurence are also expected to travel to Balmoral next week. Mike and Zara Tindall and their children may also spend time at Balmoral, but Zara applied to take part in the Wellington Horse Trials in Hampshire so is expected to leave early.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who now reside in the US, have reportedly not been invited to join the family at Balmoral.
