We didn’t have that one on the 2024 bingo card. The unexpected king of Olympic corrs, Snoop Dog, ended his epic Paris 2024 adventures by teaming up with the Prince and Princess of Wales.
The rapper joined the future king and queen in a video tribute to Team GB, shared as the Olympics came to an end.
Snoop Dogg has loved every moment of the Games where he’s been a spectator as well as a special NBC Olympics correspondent. And he’s become one of the main moments of Paris 2024, attending a host of events and providing plenty of Olympic style action with a wardrobe that has defied every expectation.
On the final day of Paris 2024, he was seen in a red, white and blue jacket and silk scarf to begin a series of messages congratulating the British athletes who have taken part in the greatest sporting show on earth.
And while Snoop Dogg opened proceedings, with a ‘greetings, loved ones” it was actually the Prince and Princess of Wales who began the tributes to a team which has secured a string of medals, including 14 golds, over the past two weeks.
The Princess was proud to speak for the armchair fans who have followed every moment of Paris 2024, saying ”from all of us watching at home, congratulations to Team GB”. The Prince of Wales then added ”well done on all you’ve achieved, you’ve been an inspiration to us all.”
It’s Catherine’s first appearance since early July and only her third since her announcement earlier this year that she is undergoing preventative chemotherapy.
The Princess of Wales matched matched Snoop Dogg’s tux with a casual favourite, one of her Breton tops. However, it was her husband who threatened to overshadow the undoubted star of Paris with his own style. William was rocking a beard for the first time in years.
Warm words from David Beckham, Michael Johnson and Rebecca Adlington, among others, followed before Snoop Dogg gave us the finale that the Olympics needed.
His suit still sparkling, his final words were ”thank you, Great Britain, on behalf of big Snoop Dogg, the Prince and his lovely wife.”
Well, when the Princess Royal turns up in Paris in a bucket hat, there is only one way the Royal Family can end the Olympics and they did it, in style.
