The Tengku Permaisuri (Queen) and Raja Muda Selangor (Crown Prince) joined Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj of Selangor as he presided over the Opening Ceremony of the Third Term of the 15th Selangor State Council at the Dewan Negeri Selangor in Shah Alam on February 18th.
Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj of Selangor was joined by Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, the Tengku Permaisuri (Queen) of Selangor and Raja Muda Selangor Tengku Amir Shah (Crown Prince) for the Opening Ceremony of the Third Term of the 15th Selangor State Council at the Dewan Negeri Selangor in Shah Alam, which began with a review of the Guard of Honour before the Sultan gave his speech.
In his speech, His Majesty reminded that the state’s development planning needs to focus on programs that benefit the people and not those that can only be profitable.
His Majesty also hopes that the state government is not alpha in facing the disaster that happened in Selangor and takes proactive steps in addressing the issue of disasters such as floods and landslides.
Also comes to His Majesty’s attention, the assurance that every citizen gets the right to clean water, where water services should be managed with full transparency, accountability and efficiency
He also wants the state government to streamline the waste collection and disposal system by exploring and utilizing Waste-to-Energy (WTE) technology.
His Majesty also instructed government officials and public servants in Selangor, especially in District Offices and Local Authorities (PBT), to work responsibly and avoid corruption and misleading practices.
His Majesty also recommended that CCTV installation should be increased in strategic places so that criminal behavior can be detected immediately.

His Majesty also reminded the Selangor Islamic Religion Department (JAIS) to continue to overcome misleading teachings and strive to organize programs to further strengthen the faith of Muslims, including Supervising and improving the tahfiz school system.
As the month of Ramadan approaches, His Majesty stressed that the sites of Ramadan bazaars should be given to those who really want to do business and not manipulated or sold their licensing rights by irresponsible people.
