A flustered Prince Harry is reportedly “sickened” by a Royal commentator’s assessment of his marriage to Meghan Markle and predictions over their future.

Former Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter suggested Meghan used Harry as a stepping stone to fame and wealth and it seems his comments haven’t gone down well.

Mr Carter said he thought the marriage of the Sussexes would be measured in “years not decades”.

A source has now said Harry is “sickened” by the comments and has been “hurt” by rumours he and Meghan are separating. They said Harry feels upset by Graydon’s comments as the journalist is “hugely respected within society circles”.

The source told the Mirror: “When Graydon Carter weighs in on a topic like this, important people in the highest places listen. It’s going to have a domino effect as far as the perceived narrative about their marriage and its long-term prospects goes.”

They added that people might assume Mr Carter has “inside knowledge about any tension in their relationship”, instead of it being purely speculation.

The source said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are worried other critics will now weigh in on their relationship.

This week the Duchess of Sussex said she was “thrilled” to have returned to the entertainment industry with her and husband Prince Harry’s production company.

Former Suits actress Meghan appeared on the red carpet of the Variety Power of Women event in Los Angeles on Thursday evening, to celebrate the accomplishments of women in entertainment.

Wearing a camel, off-the-shoulder dress paired with a slicked bun, Meghan said she is “really proud” of the projects Archewell Productions has created so far, including the docu-series Harry & Meghan – while also teasing future projects.

Meghan told Variety on the red carpet that she wants to create “things that make people feel”, as well as create “a sense of community”.

She said: “We have so many exciting things on the slate.”
