Meghan Markle attended a red carpet event this week in “an attempt to silence rumours” that could threaten her and Prince Harry’s Hollywood careers, experts have claimed.

The Duchess of Sussex surprised guests with her appearance, during which she said she is “really proud” of the work Archewell Productions has helped create so far.

Despite the success of one of their first projects, the six-part docuseries Harry & Meghan for Netflix, the organisation has seemingly struggled to settle on a follow-up production.

The lack of new developments has fuelled speculation that the streaming platform might decide to “quietly allow” its deal with Meghan and Harry to lapse in 2025.

Industry experts have now suggested the Duchess’s appearance at the Variety Power of Women event is part of her “strategic effort” to rebrand and relaunch herself in Hollywood.

Crisis management expert Eric Schiffer said: “It’s clearly time for a relaunch of Brand Sussex, and Meghan’s solo appearance speaks volumes about the direction they are headed.

“Americans don’t like whingers. We like a can-do attitude, and that’s what Meghan demonstrated last week.”

He told MailOnline: “She hit that red carpet like the pro she is and she worked the room.”

During her red carpet walk, the Duchess said Archewell’s focus remains on creating products that “make people feel” and foster a “sense of community.”

Meghan added: “We have so many exciting things on the slate.
