As Prince Harry and Meghan Markle face calls to be stripped of their royal titles, a commentator claimed they were reliant on the names for their public appearance. The row has risen to the top of the royal agenda after the Dutch translation of Omid Scobie’s book Endgame named the alleged “Royal racists” who started “conversations about Archie’s skin colour” before he was born. Mr Scobie has insisted he “never submitted a book that had their names in it.”

Katie Nicholl, Royal Editor of Vanity Fair, told GB News of the possibility of the Duke and Duchess having their titles removed: “She divorced the Royal Family. And some might say that’s exactly what Harry and Meghan have done in all but name.

“You know, they’ve upped and left. And of course, there’s a possibility that the decision to strip them of their titles won’t actually have to be made by the Royals.

“It may be made through the Houses of Parliament. We know from this couple that they will do everything possible to hold on to those titles because without the ‘Duke and Duchess’, they’re just Harry and Meghan, and and that simply doesn’t carry the same amount of weight. So I think it’s a case of wait and see what’s going to happen on that.”
