She told True Royalty’s The Royal Beat: “I think the work-shy thing has always hung around William and Kate just because they like putting their family first and have done for a long time.

“I think now they’ve stepped up, they are Prince and Princess of Wales, they are a heartbeat away from the top jobs.

“they’ve definitely stepped up, but they don’t make any bones about the fact that they like doing the school run, they like being there for their kids.

“And actually in the modern world, given what happened with their own childhood, I’m not sure that the public disagrees with that approach.”

In recent years, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have increasingly been included in their parents’s outings whenever possible.

Only this week, the Princess of Wales released a video of the children volunteering with her at a baby bank in Windsor.

George, Charlotte and Louis helped pack presents and clothes for children their own age whose parents have been struggling because of the cost of living.

And last week, the trio joined their parents at the annual Christmas Carol concert that Kate has been helping organise since 2020.

According to this year’s list of the most hard-working members of the Royal Family, William and Kate undertook 172 and 128 engagements respectively in 2023.

The change marked a substantial increase compared to 2022, when they carried out 126 and 90 engagements each.
