Prince George stepped out alongside his dad, Prince William in France earlier this month, with the pair joining forces to cheer on Wales in the Rugby World Cup.

Despite a not-so-happy ending for the team, the young royal’s appearance delighted fans, with many pointing out just how much he mirrors his dad.

Despite an overall consistent vote in favour of the monarchy, a recent poll conducted by YouGov shows a slight dip – five percent – of those in favour.

While the Prince and Princess of Wales appear to be two of the most popular royals, their popularity and overall rating of the monarchy itself could be boosted with a little help from Prince George.

The younger royals, in particular William and Kate’s three children, are likely to generate a lot of interest from the wider public.

Currently, George, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, five, are all students at Lambrook School.

While Kate and William have expressed their desire for their children to experience as normal a childhood as possible, George has been known to step out more at royal engagements – even at times, solo with William.

Cheering on Wales in France, George looked excited to be in the crowd, resembling his dad right down to their matching navy suit jackets and red ties.

William appears to be showing his eldest son the ropes, with both of them set to be future heads of the monarchy.

The Prince of Wales is undoubtedly the best guide for George, having been – and, in some ways, still remains – in George’s shoes.

As well as George being there for his dad, his appearance makes him a likely secret weapon to prepare the ratings for his father’s reign in years to come.

The Prince and Princess of Wales, along with their children, are often deemed the ‘future of the monarchy’ so involving their eldest son seems like a subtle, but smart, move.

The young trio definitely draw in a younger crowd, but George – as the eldest – is the most appropriate one to join forces with his parents.

The idea of ‘surprise’ appearances from the younger royals also draws in the crowd – with William and Kate experts at doing this.

The appearances that are deemed unexpected, like George stepping out in France, will no doubt boost ratings and give fans an insight into what’s to come.

Whether that be for William’s reign, with his son at his side, or George’s future reign.
