Prince William reveals bedtime ritual with Prince Louis | Royal | News

Prince William revealed a sweet bedtime ritual he has with Prince Louis after receiving a gift from a royal fan.

The Prince of Wales, 41, stepped in for King Charles III for the Buckingham Palace garden party today, braving downpours in London to greet crowds of weather-weary Britons eager to meet the royal.

He led a team of young royals at the royal residence, among them Zara Tindall and sisters Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, and cheerfully engaged with the guests, at one point joking it was “perfect weather for swimming”.

While the weather muted some of the celebrations at one of the King’s two summer garden parties, it didn’t stop the Prince from sharing a few insights from his family life.

After an exchange with one guest, William made a sweet promise involving the young Prince.

Among the guests in attendance earlier today was an aspiring author, Rowan Aderyn, a member of the team at Homewards, a centre in Newport dedicated to ending homelessness.

Ms Aderyn, who was formerly homeless, handed William a copy of a self-penned children’s book centred on a boy named Jack who finds himself without a home.

She proudly told the Prince the book he was given was “only of only 10 in the world”.

In response, he said: “This is great, so inspirational. I’ll read this to Louis tonight at bedtime.”

The royal also revealed a few details about his eldest son, Prince George, while conversing with another guest.

While holding an umbrella for RAF Squadron Leader Chrissie Lacey, a padre stationed at RAF Coningsby, near Lincoln, he touched on George’s career aspirations.

He said the Prince, 10, would love to visit her base as he is a “potential pilot in the making”.

William also admitted to the Squadron Leader during their conversation that he “loves cookies” after the RAF staffer told him of her “cookie ministry”.

While the Prince was not alone in greeting guests, he was without his wife, Kate, the Princess of Wales, and father, King Charles.

Both of the royals are currently receiving treatment for undisclosed cancers, with Kate, 42, not planning to return to the royal frontlines any time soon, and the King, 75, due to recommence duties next week.
