Prince William and George both wanted ‘dream job’ – and it’s not becoming king | Royal | News

Prince George and his dad, Prince William, both had the same ‘dream job’ – and it’s not being king.

From the moment he was born, every detail of Prince George’s future was already mapped out. But despite being first and second in line to the throne, both Prince William and Prince George had other dreams for their futures.

Reports suggest that the father and son duo both desired a job very different from Royal life.

Prince George’s interest in this job is typical for a young boy, but the touching reason behind William’s passion is linked to his late mum, Diana, Princess of Wales. Diana’s biographer Andrew Morton shared a conversation she once had with William and Harry.

He said: “William and Harry were aware of their destiny. On one occasion the boys were discussing their futures with Diana.”

“When I grow up I want to be a policeman and look after you Mummy,’ said William. Quick as a flash Harry replied, with a note of triumph in his voice, ‘Oh no you can’t, you’ve got to be king’,” Andrew continued.

It seems the dream of being a policeman runs in the family as Prince William once revealed that Prince George was also “obsessed” with the police, reports The Mirror Online.

At a Kensington Palace party honouring Scotland Yard, Police Commissioner Jayne Richardson told Prince William that they needed more police officers.

She playfully suggested: “We are recruiting, actually, so if George and Charlotte are keen?”

Prince William laughed and replied: “[George] is obsessed, actually, by the police… cars, toys, everything.”

Prince George’s love for the police was first revealed when Prince William handed Santa Claus his son’s Christmas wish list, which only asked for one thing – a police car!
