Piers Morgan takes huge swipe at Prince Harry after he accepts invite to Coronation

PIERS Morgan has taken a huge swipe at Prince Harry after his decision over King Charles’ Coronation was revealed.

The monarch’s youngest son, 38, will attend the grand event next month – yet his wife Meghan Markle, 41, and their two children will remain at home in Los Angeles.

Piers, 58, has long had beef with the former Suits star – branding her “revolting” and “shameless” after she gave a bombshell interview in America.

He also blasted the couple’s explosive tell-all with Oprah Winfrey – broadcast prior to the late Queen’s passing – as “bilge.”

Piers has now had his say on the decision made by Prince William’s brother to make the trip to the UK.

The TalkTV host re-posted a comment issued by Buckingham Palace which read: “Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that The Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on May 6th.”

Piers then added the cutting words: “I’d love to know exactly who at Buckingham Palace is ‘pleased’ he’s attending…”

His followers were quick to react, with one quipping: “The corgis.”

Another put: “His family!!!!!”

The couple’s attendance had been up in the air since they made a series of shocking unsubstantiated claims about the Royal Family.

Last month it was revealed they’d made the cut for the Coronation after Harry received an email from his dad’s office.

But the RSVP deadline of April 3 passed without the pair confirming their attendance with the Palace.

However, nine days later, it was today confirmed that the Duke of Sussex will come alone, while Meghan and the kids stay at home in the US.

The King’s Coronation takes place on May 6 – the same day as their son’s fourth birthday.

Close pal Omid Scobie said this was a factor in the couple’s decision to be apart.

The duke’s presence at Westminster Abbey will see him join his family for the first time since the Queen’s funeral in September.

But he will not be able to stand alongside many of them on the Buckingham Palace balcony as he is no longer a working royal.
