In a hint released on social media, Netflix has given a sneak peak of a significant royal event that will be included in The Crown‘s final season.

On X, Netflix shared an image of an order of service for the blessing of the marriage of The King and Queen’s in 2005 at Windsor. 

The Crown first premiered on Netflix in 2015 and over the first five seasons has covered notable events like The Queen’s Accession in 1952, her coronation in 1953, and Charles and Diana’s courtship and marriage troubles.

The fourth and fifth season have largely focused on Charles and Diana’s relationship, and the late Princess of Wales’s death will be featured in the final season. 

The Crown has brought more attention back to the Royal Family since it first premiered. Critics have argued that the show should carry warnings stating that it is fictional as some viewers have believed the show as fact. 

It was originally speculated that the show would end in 2002 with The Queen’s Golden Jubilee and the deaths of her mother and sister. It is unclear whether or not Charles and Camilla’s 2005 wedding will be the end of the series.

The sixth season will be releases in the autumn of 2023 but there has been no specific date announced.
