Relationship expert Louella Alderson also shared her insight on the royals and the Sussexes reuniting for Christmas, with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet never having spent a Christmas in the UK.
She told The Mirror: “Meghan may not want to reconcile with the Royal Family after the way she feels she was treated by them and the British media.
“Meghan might see this as a chance to distance herself even more from them and concentrate on creating a happy life with her family in America. Meghan might be relieved that she doesn’t have to return to the UK any time soon and face the Royal Family.”
The Mirror’s Royal editor Russell Myers commented on the situation saying: “They wanted it to be known that there was still no contact between them.
“They were putting it out actively to say that he has had no contact from anyone, his father or the Palace, and that just tells you a lot about the relationship.”
The King treated his birthday on Tuesday as just a normal working day, travelling to Oxfordshire to launch the Coronation Food Project before hosting a reception at the Palace to celebrate 75 years of the NHS.
In the evening a dinner for close friends and family was held at Clarence House by Charles and Camilla.
