Kate is also a keen beekeeper and makes her own honey with produce from her apiary, which she shared with some schoolchildren at Urban Nature Project at London’s Natural History Museum in 2021.

Before then, in 2020, she visited East Anglia Children’s Hospices (EACH) where she helped plant a garden for one of the charity’s sites: the Nook.

Amongst the plants she brought with her were lavender, rosemary and bay leaf to help create a sensory garden for the children using the facilities.

King Charles is well-known for his green fingers, having designed the gardens at his Gloucestershire home Highgrove and implemented an eco-friendly, climate Topiary garden on the Sandringham Estate.

In 2021 he spoke with Poet Laureate Simon Armitage on BBC Radio 4 about how he had become so keen on horticulture when he was still a child.

He explained: “My sister and I had a little vegetable patch in the back of some border somewhere. We had great fun trying to grow tomatoes rather unsuccessfully, and things like that.”

Louis is also following in his grandfather’s footsteps with another hobby, taking his electric car for a drive around the family’s private land at Windsor Castle.

According to a source the five-year-old can often been seen driving around the 100 acres of land, when he isn’t busy stealing the limelight at events like the Coronation and Trooping the Colour.

An insider told The Sun: “He can use the paths that are running through Frogmore Gardens like a racetrack and it is completely private.

“The Queen used to use the area to go riding and take her dogs. Now Andy and Fergie go there with the corgis. It’s quiet and away from the public so ideal for Louis.”
