The Royal Victorian Order was established in 1896, just before the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria. It is given to those who have provided distinguished personal service to the Monarch or a member of their family.

Recipients place the letters RVO after their name. King Charles is now the Sovereign of the Order.
