In a touching tribute, Kate paired the gorgeous look with a stunning pearl necklace from the late Queen’s collection.

A matching clutch bag, subtle make-up and stylish stilettos finished Kate’s sophisticated get-up.

While The Prince of Wales displayed his regal side dressed head to toe in traditional ceremonial regalia.

Earlier today the King and Queen arrived at St Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh for the start of a service of thanksgiving and dedication celebrating their coronation.

Charles and Camilla travelled the short distance from the Palace of Holyroodhouse to the church where leading figures from Scotland’s national life gathered for the event.

Crowds stood behind barriers in Edinburgh’s Royal Mile to watch the King and Queen be driven past.

The Prince and Princess of Wales, known as the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay in Scotland, were part of the royal procession and entered the cathedral behind the monarch and his wife, with the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh also at the service.

Scotland’s First Minister Humza Yousaf gave a reading during the service, while others attending from the world of politics include Scottish Conservative leader Douglas Ross, Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar and Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Alex Cole-Hamilton.

It comes after we revealed security chiefs installed 6ft steel barrier in the city amid concerns Just Stop Oil fanatics will try to wreck the celebrations.

A source said of the move to guard the King’s route to St Giles’ Cathedral: “There are real fears of a stunt.”

It was feared last night that the eco protesters could be planning to target the celebration of Charles’ coronation in the latest of their high-profile publicity stunts.
