The Royal Family gathered for the Funeral of Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle on this day in 2004, 20 years ago, for the longest-lived member of the Royal Family who had passed away at the age of 102.
The Funeral of Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester was held in St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, before she was interred next to her husband, Prince Henry, and her elder son, Prince William, in the Royal Burial Ground at Frogmore. A memorial service was held at St Clement Danes in February 2005, co-ordinated by the Royal Air Force in respect of Princess Alice’s role as Commandant-in-Chief WRAF.
