The first foreign royal guests have been confirmed for Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan’s June wedding to his Saudi fiancee Rajwa Al Saif.

The Japanese Cabinet has approved the travel of Princess Hisako and Princess Tsuguko to Jordan for the wedding, confirming the first set of royal guests for the nuptials.

Princess Hisako will travel to Jordan first on 28 May, and Princess Tsuguko will travel the following day on what will be Tsuguko’s first official visit to a foreign country. Hisako has been to Jordan twice before; Tsuguko has been to Jordan once in a private capacity while at university.

The Japanese royals will be in Jordan until 3 June.

The Crown Prince Couple of Japan were invited to the wedding in March but were unable to attend due to engagements in Japan. Princesses Hisako and Tsuguko were invited in April.

Princess Hisako, 69, was married to Prince Norihito of Japan, who died in 2002. They had three daughters together; their eldest child is Princess Tsuguko, who was born in 1986.

Further royal guests are expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
