The Swedish Royal Family hosting President Alexander Stubb and First Lady Suzanne Innes-Stubb of Finland, who are on a State Visit to Sweden on April 23 and 24, to celebrate and build diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties. King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden last made a State Visit to Finland in 2015, while the last Finnish State Visit was in 2022.
King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia welcomed President Alexander Stubb and First Lady Suzanne Innes-Stubb at the Royal Mews ahead of a carriage procession to the Royal Palace of Stockholm, for the Official Welcome Ceremony, during which the King and President received military honours and inspected the guard of honour. Afterwards, the group were joined by other members of the Swedish Royal Family for an Audience and Luncheon inside the Palace.
Later, the King and President gave press statements in Lovisa Ulrika’s dining room followed by a visit to the Swedish Parliament and a business seminar organized by Business Sweden at the Grand hotel. The Queen and First Lady were given a tour of the Bernadotte Library before visiting the Sven Harry’s art museum and the Sätraskolan for a presentation about Mentor Sweden and the collaboration between Mentor Sweden and the Sätraskolan.
In the evening, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia hosted a State Banquet in honour of President Alexander Stubb and First Lady Suzanne Innes-Stubb at the Royal Palace of Stockholm. Both the King and President gave speeches. Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Prince Carl Philip , and Princess Sofia were also present.
Queen Silvia wore Queen Sofia’s Nine Prong Tiara and Diamond Floral Earrings with the Order of the White Rose of Finland, and King Carl Gustaf’s Portrait Brooch. King Carl XVI Gustav wore White Tie with the Order of the White Rose of Finland and the Neck Badge of the Order of the Polar Star while the President wore the Order of the Seraphim, while the First Lady wore the Order of the Polar Star.
Crown Princess Victoria wore Princess Lilian’s Laurel Wreath Tiara, the Order of the White Rose of Finland, and King Carl Gustaf’s Portrait Brooch. Prince Daniel wore White Tie with the Order of the White Rose of Finland and the Neck Badge of the Order of the Polar Star.
Prince Carl-Phillip wore White Tie with the Order of the White Rose of Finland and the Neck Badge of the Order of the Polar Star. Princess Sofia wore a new version of her Wedding Tiara, the Order of the White Rose of Finland, and King Carl Gustaf’s Portrait Brooch.
Princess Christina wore the Connaught Diamond Tiara, the Order of the White Rose of Finland, and King Carl Gustaf’s Portrait Brooch.
