Meghan Markle and Prince Harry revealed in a bombshell 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey that conversations had been had in royal circles about what colour Archie’s skin would be.

In the English version of Endgame, Scobie said he is aware of the identity of the two individuals but has been prohibited by law from publishing the information in the UK.

Buckingham Palace has declined to respond to the book’s claims or the removal of the Dutch edition from shelves.

During the Sussexes’ interview with Oprah, Meghan said: “In those months when I was pregnant, all around this same time…so we have in tandem the conversation of ‘He won’t be given security, he’s not going to be given a title’ and also concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born.”

When asked if she would name the individuals who made the comments, Meghan responded: “I think that would be very damaging to them.”

In his new book, Scobie claims that Meghan made King Charles aware of the two royals who discussed “concerns” over Archie’s skin colour.

Scobie said in an interview with Good Morning America that he was frustrated Harry and Meghan did not continue to address the situation.

He said: “I always wondered why Harry and Meghan didn’t continue that conversation on their Netflix series and in Spare.”

He added: “I wanted to get to the bottom of that, to discover more on the letter exchanged between Meghan and Charles.

“Neither saw eye to eye, but they shared queries and concerns on the conversations that happened.”

Amid the controvery surrounding the Dutch translation of Endgame, Scobie insisted that no edition of the book had named the people concerned, and he said the version released in the Netherlands had a publishing error.
