Christening of Princess Ines of Sweden


The Swedish Royal Family have gathered to celebrate the Christening of Princess Ines Marie Lilian Silvia, Duchess of Västerbotten, the fourth child and only daughter of Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia of Sweden, in the Chapel of Drottningholm Palace on June 13th, the 10th Wedding Anniversary of Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia. 

Princess Ines was christened in the Royal Chapel of Drottningholm Palace at noon, in a ceremony officiated by Archbishop Emeritus Anders Wejryd, Bishop Johan Dalman and the Pastor of the Royal Family, Michael Bjerkhagen.

Princess Ines’ godparents are Princess Estelle, Fredrik von der Esch, Claes and Sandrine Kockum, and Tiara Larsson.

After the service, the King bestowed the Order of the Seraphim on his granddaughter before King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia hosted a reception at Drottningholm Palace, during which the Princess laid in King Karl XV’s cradle.
