MEGHAN Markle has been reunited with Prince Harry after jetting over to Germany for the remainder of the Invictus Games.

Hours after arriving, the Duchess of Sussex gave a speech at a private reception, and a body language expert has weighed in on how the pair interacted together – including their lack of PDAs.

Taking to the stage with Harry stood beside her clasping his hands and grinning while the Duchess gave a two minute speech to competitors and their families – and apologised for being three days late.

Judi James told Fabulous: “There are no romantic PDAs between them like last year’s kiss, and Harry’s hand clasp in front of his torso does suggest some inner anxiety or awkwardness as he listens to her speak, although he was clearly revved up by the audience and their inter reactions with him.”

However, the body language pro said Meghan appeared “relieved” to be reunited with her husband.

She explained: “They both appear happy and she looks very relaxed and even relieved to be there with him in these photos but there are none of the kind of passion signals or constant touch and hand-hold that we’re used to seeing from them when they appear as a couple.

“It’s Harry’s beam of pride that suggests he is happy to have Meghan back at his side again but there is a sense that she is late to the party that he and the audience have been enjoying for a couple of days, and that she probably needs to play catch-up.

“One point that is made emphatically clear from Meghan’s body language here is that she’s not taking any back seats at Invictus or cracking the brand partnership to see Harry fly solo with the Games.”

Although the pair did not make contact during the speech, Prince Harry did take his wife’s hand as they left the stage.

Speaking of the event, a source said: “It was organised for the competitors’ family and friends to be able to spend time together in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.”

The Duchess of Sussex looked in good spirits as she touched down in Dusseldorf to join up with Harry – having briefly landed in London on a fleeting layover.

Although she missed the first few days of the 2023 event, including Harry’s speech at the opening ceremony, Meghan is expected to have a starring role by her husband’s side this week.

Their children, Archie, 4, and Lilibet, 2, remain in the US.

Holding a microphone, she said: “Hi everybody. It is so special to be here and I’m sorry I’m a little late to the party.

“Like so many of you, you know this is about family and friends and the community that Invictus has created and Fisher House has created, and so I had to spend a little bit more time getting the little ones settled at home

“Three milkshakes and a school drop off and I just landed a couple of hours ago and I am thrilled that the first event I can do for Invictus is here with all of you.”

Harry appeared not to want to speak and Meghan said: “My husband is a man of few words this evening, do you want to say anything?”

The suited Duke took hold of the microphone and said: “You don’t need to hear from me again.”

Harry, who is celebrating his 39th birthday on Friday, was reunited with his 42-year-old wife in their £2,000-a-night presidential suite at Dusseldorf’s Hyatt Regency Hotel.

Meghan arrived there in a VW SUV at 4.40pm.

The mum-of-two is expected to meet some of the children attending the adaptive sports games.

And German media outlets have reported that the Duchess will deliver a “very emotional” closing speech during the farewell ceremony on September 16.

Rita Ora is also scheduled to perform for the closing event, and said in a statement: “I am so excited to be performing in front of this very unique audience.

“The Invictus Games is a very special sport event, and the competitors are an inspiration in perseverance and will for all of us.”

The Invictus Games, for disabled military veterans, features a host of different sports and challenges.

Across the pond, Meghan’s sister-in-law Princess Kate has been busy today at a Royal engagement – visiting inmates in prison who are struggling with addiction.

Kate donned a navy power suit to tour HMP High Down in Surrey – but caught the eye of many with the skin-coloured plasters wrapped around her fingers.

During the opening of the event, Prince Harry compared himself to JFK and grappled with the German language.

Since the last games in The Hague, in the Netherlands, in 2022, Harry has brought out his tell-all memoir Spare and six-part Netflix series and attended the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II and coronation of his father King Charles.
