The Belgian Royal Palace has released new images to mark the tenth anniversary of King Philippe’s ascension to the Belgian throne.
Ten photos were released showing the King and Queen Mathilde in casual and formal wear to mark the first big anniversary of His Majesty’s reign.
Michel Gronemberger photographed Their Majesties in the Palace of Laeken. Four of the images show the King and Queen together, while the other six are solo photographs.
Both the King and Queen are seen wearing the Order of the Leopold in the formal images, and Queen Mathilde is seen in the stunning diamond Nine Provinces Tiara.
King Philippe became King of the Belgians after the abdication of his father, King Albert II, on 21 July 2013, Belgium’s National Day.
Albert II had reigned since his older brother, King Baudouin’s death on 31 July 1993.
