A romantic setting for King Charles and Queen Camilla on a special anniversary

The King and Queen will spend their twentieth wedding anniversary in Italy.

King Charles and Queen Camilla’s State Visit to Italy will take place between April 7th and April 10th 2025. The couple marks two decades of marriage on April 9th 2025.

The four day tour will take them to Rome and Ravenna.

It will also include a State Visit to the Holy See where The King and Queen will meet Pope Francis, expected to be among the Pontiff’s first major public appearances after treatment for double pneumonia.

Their Majesties will also attend a special service at the Sistine Chapel reflecting the long standing commitment of King Charles and Pope Francis to the natural world.

The State Visit to Italy will also include a focus on food and agriculture with time celebrating the produce of the Emilia-Romagna area. When the visit was announced, The King and Queen hosted an evening of slow food and slow fashion at Highgrove with Stanley Tucci curating the menu.

In a moment of history, King Charles will also become the first British Monarch to address a joint session of the Italian Parliament.

During this high level diplomacy, The King and Queen will also take a moment to mark their anniversary. The couple wed on April 9th 2005 at the Guildhall in Windsor followed by a blessing at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor.

Their visit to Rome is a reminder of another event that marked their marriage – they had originally planned to wed on April 8th but had to move the date by a day when Charles, then Prince of Wales, had to travel to the Vatican for the funeral of Pope John Paul II.
