The past year has been one of many celebrations for the Swedish Royal Family.

King Carl XVI Gustaf’s Golden Jubilee (50 years on the throne) was marked throughout the year, but the country had a few other reasons to celebrate in 2023. The country also marked 500 years since becoming an independent nation, Prince Daniel’s 50th birthday and Queen Silvia’s 80th birthday.

They also helped to celebrate international events, with participation at King Charles’s Coronation, Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan’s wedding and Prince Christian of Denmark’s 18th birthday festivities.

Let’s take a look back at the royal year that began with a new photo of a jubilee king.

The King and Crown Princess also helped to mark King Charles III’s Coronation in May in London – just four months before the big jubilee plans in their country.
