The King and Queen will attend the annual RHS Chelsea Flower Show at the Royal Hospital Chelsea next week.
Their Majesties will be joined at the world famous garden show by the Duke & Duchess of Gloucester and Prince & Princess Michael of Kent.
On arrival, Their Majesties and The Royal Highnesses will be greeted by the President of the Royal Horticultural Society, Keith Weed, before touring the gardens and viewing the displays.
Amongst the displays at the 2023 Chelsea Flower Show is the London Square Community Garden, designed by James Smith.
Bringing together a community is the theme which runs through Mr Smith’s garden, where people can meet, relax, share food and connect with nature.
The Royal Family will also view the Samaritans’ Listening Garden – designed by Darren Hawkes – inspired by stories of people who found the courage to reach out
to the Samaritans in their darkest times.
The King has been Patron of the Samaritans for over 20 years, committed to supporting their vision that fewer people die by suicide.
This will be the first Chelsea Flower Show since the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
Her Late Majesty almost always attended the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, and marked it in her calendar each year.
Even in 2022, despite her failing health, the 96-year-old attended the show, being driven around the grounds in a motorised buggy.
The Royal Family will remember the late monarch at this year’s show, with those present viewing The Garden of Royal Reflection and Celebration – designed by Dave Green.
A special presentation will take place in this garden which represents a celebration of the Coronation of King Charles & Queen Camilla and remembers Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
