King Charles has been focusing on history when he helped begin a time capsule that will be opened in 2125. And there were two special contributions from The King for this important memento.
The King was at Dumfries House to mark a special anniversary for The King’s Foundation. The organisation is celebrating a milestone, 35 years, after its founding as the Prince of Wales’ Institute of Architecture in 1990.
Singer Sir Rod Stewart and his wife, Penny Lancaster, joined His Majesty at Dumfries House for the time capsule ceremony.
Over the next year, The King’s Foundation will be collecting items for a time capsule that will not be opened until 2125. The items collected will represent all of the work that the foundation does.
The King not only attended the ceremony but also contributed the first items of the collection. He wrote a personal letter that will not be read for a century, in addition to donating his own gardening secateurs.
The work based out of Dumfries House is focused on sustainability and the environment; much of the group’s work focuses on educating students on nature and promoting sustainable work and practices.
Sir Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster are currently serving as ambassadors for The King’s Foundation, a role previously filled by English football start, David Beckham.
