Zara Tindall brings ‘cheeky naughtiness’ out of King Charles says ex-royal staffer | Royal | News

Zara Tindall has an extremely strong bond with her family despite her not being a working royal, with her close relationship and bond with King Charles being described by a former royal staffer.

Former royal gardener, Jack Stooks, believes her close relationship with her uncle, King Charles, allows her to bring out his fantastic sense of humour, something that members of the public don’t normally get to see. Speaking on behalf of Fruity King, Jack said: “Zara always seems quite lighthearted. The King has a good sense of humour and is fun as well, but people don’t necessarily see that much.

“They don’t know what he’s like, so he can seem a bit stiff. But I think Zara brings a bit of that cheeky naughtiness out of him, and she can always make him laugh.”

The former royal gardener also shared an insight into the family life Zara and her husband, Mike Tindall, have created for themselves.

He said: “They’re just very normal down to earth people. Their whole family has been brought up so down-to-earth. You see them in Tesco and they’re just left alone to shop. Even though they’re royal, they don’t act like they need any kind of special treatment.”

Another former staffer, Grant Harrold, who previously worked as a royal butler, believes Zara offers solid support for the entire Royal Family. He says: “She’s very fond of her uncle and step-aunt, as well as her cousins William and Harry. She’s a great support to the entire Royal Family. She’s just got a lovely way about her.”

Despite not having a HRH title and not being a working royal, Zara has an extremely strong bond with senior members of the Royal Family and is often seen as a strong support during difficult times. In particular, she was seen attending royal events to support Prince William when King Charles was first diagnosed with cancer last year.

The daughter of Princess Anne is celebrating her 44th birthday today (May 15) and husband Mike has taken to Instagram to send his wife a birthday message, but he couldn’t resist a cheeky joke.

Alongside a beautiful picture of him and his wife, Mike wrote the caption: “Happy Birthday to the better Tindall”. Then, in a funny twist, he revealed how he was celebrating the day, “She’s even let me play golf on her birthday!”

Zara and Mike’s next major milestone will come this summer when they will celebrate their 14th wedding anniversary on July 30. The couple first met in a Sydney bar in 2003 and they were both in Australia at the time, Zara was on a gap year with friends, and Mike was with the England rugby team for the Rugby World Cup.
