Mike is known for marrying the Queen’s eldest granddaughter and Princess Anne’s daughter, Zara Phillips.

He also rose to fame as a successful English rugby player and was awarded an MBE in 2007.

What does Mike Tindall do for a living?

Tindall played rugby union professionally between 1997 and 2014.

He won 75 caps for England between 2000 and 2011 and captained his country seven times throughout his career.

He was a member of the England team that won the 2003 Rugby World Cup and the 2003 Six Nations Championship.

Tindall joined Bath rugby team straight after he left school, when he was 18.

He then made his England debut when he was 20 and scored a try in his first game for his country.

Tindall retired in 2014 and has since been playing and coaching for amateur club, Minchinhampton RFC.

The club is conveniently located for Tindall, who lives with his family in Gatcombe Park estate near Minchinhampton.

Mike shares his passion for rugby by co-hosting his weekly podcast ‘The Good, The Bad & The Rugby’ with fellow England legend James Haskell and broadcaster Alex Payne.

In 2022, Mike became the first-ever Royal Family member to be on ITV’s reality show I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.

When did Mike marry Zara Phillips?

Zara and Mike first met at a bar during the 2003 Rugby World Cup in Sydney, Australia.

Their relationship then became official in April 2004.

In 2008, Mike called Princess Anne “a legend” and said Zara’s dad, Mark Phillips, was “lovely too”.

He said: “My mates in Wakefield are forever asking how I fit in among the Royal Family but they are really down to earth.”

The couple announced their engagement in December 2010, after more that six years of being together.

The Queen gave her consent for the pair to get married, in front of a Privy Council in May 2011.

The pair got married two months later on July 30, 2011 in Edinburgh.

Zara and Mike had more than 400 guests at their special day, including several members of the Royal Family.

In July 2013, Buckingham Palace announced that Zara and Mike were expecting their first child.

Do they have children?

Zara and Mike have three children together, two daughters and one son.
