It’s two paths many think wouldn’t cross – Kansas City Chiefs football player Travis Kelce and the Royal Family. Now, Kelce is opening up about meeting Prince William, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
Many are still soaking up the photos of Taylor Swift, William, George and Charlotte during Taylor’s show at Wembley Stadium in London. The group also shared another selfie with Taylor’s boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs football star Travis Kelce.
During a podcast episode of New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, the brothers unveil they were a big fan of the Princess.
“I gotta say, Prince William was fantastic, but the highlight was Princess Charlotte. Prince George was great too. She was so….adorable. Like, I cannot…” said former Eagles star and Travis’ brother, Jason.
Travis agreed and added that he thought Charlotte was a superstar. Jason said that he might’ve felt that way because he has three girls himself. And he noted how he thought Charlotte asking questions was “the most electric part of the evening.”
Later on in the episode, Travis shared his thoughts on Prince William although in a rather unexpected way. He called the future king, the “coolest mother——.” The brothers even admitted they didn’t know whether they were even allowed to talk about the meeting.
“They were an absolute delight to meet. Wasn’t sure if I was supposed to, like, bow to them, curtsy, just be an American idiot and shake their hand,” Travis said.
As he says how they wanted to be polite on “that side of the pond,” Jason added that he thought they didn’t need to bow or curtsy as it wasn’t an official royal event. But that you still address the royals as “Your Royal Highness.”
Travis joked to his brother: “I’ve never seen you give someone that much respect. You put your beer, like, 10 feet away from you.“
While the selfies of Taylor, Travis and the royals got people talking, there was another reason people got excited. Taylor notably made her relationship with Travis “Instagram official.”
The Grammy winner posted the selfie with the caption: “Happy Bday M8! London shows are off to a splendid start ????????????????????.”
Taylor is set for five more shows at Wembley in August. Who knows, maybe the royals will be back for round two of The Eras Tour.
