The Wedding of Prince Maurits of Orange-Nassau, son of Princess Margriet of the Netherlands and Pieter van Vollenhoven, and Marilène van den Broek (wearing the Ears of Wheat Tiara) at the Grove Kerk in Apeldoorn on this day in 1998, followed by a Reception at the Het Loo Palace. The couple have three children, who do not hold titles, and while Prince Maurits is no longer in the line of succession, he and Princess Marilène are seen at several Dutch Royal Events, most notably the the annual Koningsdag Celebrations.

Members of the extended Dutch Royal Family in attendance included Queen Beatrix and Prince Claus, Queen Juliana and Prince Bernhard, the Prince of Orange, Prince Friso and Prince Constantjin, as well as Archduke Carl-Christian and Archduchess Marie Astrid of Austria and Prince Nikolaus of Liechtenstein and Princess Margaretha of Luxembourg and Liechtenstein.
