Prince Harry made a rare public appearance in the UK celebrating achievements of young people and their families facing serious health conditions for his charity WellChild.
Harry attended their annual awards ceremony in central London on September 30 recognising the ‘little legend’s’ that reminded him ‘of the strength of the human spirit’.
Since leaving his Royal duties and embarking on a new life in the US with his wife, Meghan Markle, Harry has only returned to the UK a few times for various charity events.
The Duke of Sussex’s last appearance in the UK was in August for the memorial service of his uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes.
Harry’s hopes to meet up with father, King Charles, during his UK visit, are rumoured to have been dashed by three “stumbling blocks” – the first being Queen Camilla who has reportedly advised her husband not to meet up with his son.
According to reports, a father and son reunion will not take place as Charles is still in Scotland and staying at Balmoral.
Sources implied Camilla had expressed major concerns for the pair’s meeting due to the King’s health.
Two other stumbling blocks preventing their reunion are concerns regarding Prince William’s potential reaction who is still deeply hurt by Harry and a potential constitutional crisis that could ensue if Harry discusses security for himself while in the UK.
Camilla is said to be less enthused about a reunion between the pair as it could be too stressful for His Majesty in a time when he needs to relax.
The news of Camilla’s disapproval regarding their meeting comes as a new TV programme is set to emerge painting the Queen as a ‘wicked stepmother’.
In a Channel Four documentary rumoured to be titled Camilla: Harry’s ‘Wicked’ Stepmother?, is scheduled to air in the coming weeks, portraying Harry and Meghan as the ‘victims’ of his mother-in-law.
This disdain towards Camilla from Harry is further exacerbated after his memoir, Spare, painted his stepmother in a less than favourable light.
In the memoir, Harry called Camilla both ‘dangerous’ and ‘the villian’, also accusing the Queen of leaking stories about the family to the media in order to maintain her popularity among Royal fans.
A friend to the Queen told the Daily Beast that Camilla refuses for Charles to meet with Harry.
“She has been the principal voice urging Charles to slow down and take things easy,” they said.
“The last thing she wants him to do is to get stressed out over a meeting with Harry.”
However, Charles might feels differently towards a reunion as sources say he has an ‘instictive impulse towards Christian reconciliation’ which has increased since his health woes.
