The Prince and Princess of Wales spent their fourteenth wedding anniversary in Tobermory on the Isle of Mull where they were able to enjoy time in the community. And while they were chatting, Catherine revealed she had received a rather surprising Christmas present.
The couple visited the Aros Hall community centre in Tobermory where they were able to meet new mums and to see the new soft play area for the local children.
Their Royal Highnesses’ foundation, The Royal Foundation, gave the community hub a renovation grant to make improvements. And in addition to the grant, William and Catherine helped with some of the improvements as they arrived there on their anniversary.
While helping put up a new community pantry sign, the Princess of Wales revealed that she does in fact know her way around power tools as she received a chainsaw for Christmas.
Her husband also got busy, picking up a nailgun to help with works. However, Prince William conceded that his wife is the more talented artist as the two were asked to add some royal additions to the work going on in the centre.
The couple had been given a very warm welcome on their arrival with crowds turning up to see them as they started a two day visit to the Inner Hebrides.
Scotland holds a special place in their hearts as they met when both were students at the University of St. Andrews..
William and Catherine are actually known as the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay while in Scotland, the ancient title always held by the heir to the Scottish throne.
They also hold the title of Lord and Lady of the Isles and, romantically, they headed to a secluded cottage in the islands as their anniversary continued.
