There’s long been debate about whether the two direct heirs to a throne can fly together but is it allowed for both to climb a rather flimsy looking ladder at the same time?
As Denmark’s royals put up their Christmas tree, the first and second in line to the country’s crown simultaneously clambered up a wooden, free standing ladder to make sure the festive decorations looked as pretty as possible.
Crown Prince Frederik and his elder son, Prince Christian, were seen scaling the ladder in a brand new video released as part of the Danish royal Advent Calendar for 2023.
Meanwhile, Christian’s siblings stayed at ground level to trim the tree.
Third in line to the throne, sixteen year old Princess Isabella, gave a teenage shrug after adding a few baubles to the branches while her twin brother and sister, twelve year old Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, seemed eager to put as many decorations in place as possible.
Josephine wore a particularly striking Christmas jumper while her mum, Crown Princess Mary, went for festive fashion in more muted hues.
The tree was decked in red and white decorations, matching the flag of Denmark, with thin red tapers taking pride of place.
However, it was the ladder than ended up being the star of the show with the video ending with Prince Christian grappling with it again in an attempt to put it away.
The tree has been put up in Frederik VIII’s Palace at Amalienborg.
