The Princess of Wales made an unannounced visit to the Vsi Razom Community Hub in Bracknell on Wednesday, meeting with Ukrainian refugees and community organisers who oversee support in the area.

Catherine’s visit coincided with the first anniversary of the creation of the Vsi Razom Community Hub, founded by two women who wanted to put together packages to support Ukrainians.

During her visit, Catherine met with volunteers and staff and helped pack supplies that have been donated by the local community that will be sent to Ukraine to help the community there.

The royal was joined by members of the Ukrainian community to package clothing and food donations and could be overheard telling organisers: “It must feel good for them to be able to do something for the people back home.”

A cardboard box of supplies packed by the future queen bore a handwritten message: “We are all thinking of you.”

Catherine also joined in an arts and crafts session with local children, which encourages displaced Ukrainian children to find friendships within their new communities. She was also invited to add her handprint to a painting of a tree to mark the first anniversary of the conflict in Ukraine, and she quipped, after adding her print with a rubber glove on: “I’ve never done a handprint with a glove on. It will be a bit cleaner, normally the children end up putting paint everywhere.”

Finally, Catherine met with the Vsi Razom Community Hub’s psychologist to learn more about how families cope as they resettle in the United Kingdom and also took time to meet with a few Ukrainian families who use the Hub’s services.

On social media, Kensington Palace shared snaps of Catherine at the Hub with the caption: “‘Vsi Razom’ means ‘All Together’ in Ukrainian, and the Vsi Razom “Community Hub in Bracknell lives up to its name.

The hub does amazing work to help Ukrainians settle into life in the UK with donations, mental health support and even arts and crafts sessions for children.”

Catherine has long supported the Ukrainian community in the United Kingdom since the conflict began a year ago. She has met with the Ukrainian First Lady, Olena Zelenska, on several occasions to talk about the ongoing conflict.
