The Princess of Wales will host a carol service at Westminster Abbey as Advent gets under way with a focus on celebrating those who look after babies and young children.

The Princess will welcome special guests from across the UK to the Abbey for the event, the third year in a row that this Christmas celebration has taken place.

The concert will once again be broadcast on Christmas Eve, going out on ITV. Members of the Royal Family will be in attendance.

Each of the carol services organised by the Princess of Wales have been held to celebrate the work of a part of the national community. In 2023, those who care for the youngest in society are at the heart of the event.

Guests will include health visitors, midwives, early years practitioners as well as teachers and those who support children and young people. The theme is the happiness and opportunity that each new life brings.

Those attending have been nominated by Lord-Lieutenants across the UK. Guests will also come from charities associated with members of the Royal Family.

The concert takes place on December 8th 2023.

As well as the Westminster Abbey service, there will be community concerts in twelve locations across the UK which will be shaped around the area they are held in. The services will take place in Leominster, Sheffield, Hartlepool, Bristol, Uppingham, Upminster, Fife, Newport, Chester, Charlbury, Bangor in Wales and the City of Derry in Northern Ireland.
