The Prince and Princess of Wales will celebrate wedding anniversary in very special location

The Prince and Princess of Wales have shared how they will be celebrating their fourteenth wedding anniversary and it involves a trip back to the country where their romance started!

he Prince and Princess of Wales will be visiting the Scottish Isles on April 29 and 30 to spend time with rural island communities. William and Catherine met in Scotland, when both were students at St. Andrew’s University.

They will begin their visit with a trip to Tobermory on the Isle of Mull. The town was originally founded as a fishing port in the late eighteenth century and currently has a population of roughly 1,000.

While there, the couple will be touring an artisan market and visit a local community hub to learn more about life in the rural community.

The trip will also focus on the environment, a cause particularly close to Prince William’s heart. On April 30, William and Catherine will be meeting the Mull and Iona Ranger Service. Kensington Palace said that “during their visit to the Scottish Isles, Their Royal Highnesses will spend time with members of the local community reflecting on the power of social connection and the importance of protecting and championing the natural environment, two subjects which are close to both of Their Royal Highnesses’ hearts.”

While in Scotland, members of the Royal Family are usually referred to by their Scottish titles. William and Catherine are the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay – the title has long belonged to the heir to the Scottish throne. However, they have another, perhaps more pertinent title, for this trip. As first in line to the Crown, William is also Lord of the Isles, another ancient title.

William and Catherine married on April 29 2011 at Westminster Abbey.
