Princess Anne has arrived in Paris ahead of the 2024 Olympics.
The royal, who will celebrate her 74th birthday next month, attended the first day of the 142nd IOC Session
The two-week Olympic Games will officially begin on July 26, although some competitions take place from tomorrow.
Anne was the first member of the Royal Family to have competed in the Olympic Games when she rode in the equestrian three-day event at the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games.
With her long-standing commitment to the Games, Anne now acts as President of the British Olympic Association and is a Member of the International Olympic Committee.
@Gertsroyals on X shared that the Princess Royal had departed from Heathrow Airport yesterday evening, July 22.
After arriving at the Charles de Gaulle Airport, Anne by His Majesty’s Ambassador to the French Republic, Her Excellency Dame Menna Rawlings.
Much like her mother, Zara Tindall is known to be have professionally competed in the 2012 Olympics.
She will, however, not be representing Team GB at the Paris Olympics this week.
Back in 2022, Zara told Vogue that she was back in training for the Olympics, having been making an attempt to balance her riding career with looking after her three young children.
Zara’s equestrian team scooped silver in 2012, but she was not selected for Rio 2016 – and did not try for Tokyo 2020.
Speaking about her career, Zara told Vogue: “When you finish around here you definitely know if you’ve got a good horse, a good combination.
“So it is one of the best events in the world where you can really find out where you’re at in your training and the horse’s future.”
