It’s a very unusual tiara, blending two different styles, and it has a very romantic name. As the only royal woman to wear it marks her birthday, let’s celebrate with a glimpse at Princess Marie’s dazzling diadem, the ”Nuits Claires”.

Since her marriage to Prince Joachim, Princess Marie had often attended formal royal events, which meant wearing tiaras. In 2018, Marie debuted a new tiara in her rotation. 

This floral tiara has the profile of a kokoshnik, melding different styles together. 

Princess Marie worked with French jeweller Maison Mauboussin to create this piece. The white gold tiara is set with 13.35 carats of diamonds, as well as 13.35 carats of sapphires. The centre of the tiara is set with a 6.82 carat sapphire. 

She has reportedly been granted an exclusive loan to wear it, in addition to a matching diamond and sapphire ring. 

Princess Marie hasn’t been seen in the tiara that often and she rarely attends big royal events at the moment as she lives in Washington with her husband and their two children after Prince Joachim began work there. However, the ‘Nuits Claires’ is a striking jewel that has given this princess a distinctive and dramatic diamond based look.
