The Crown Prince of Denmark has sent Christmas greetings into space.

Crown Prince Frederik chatted with astronaut Andreas Mogenson who is the first Dane to spend the festive season on the International Space Station.

The two enjoyed a video call between space and Aarhus with the future king being given a virtual tour of the ISS as it orbited the earth.

The conversation soon became a group chat as Frederik’s children became intrigued about their guest from space. Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine joined their father one by one to get in on the chat and see space for themselves firsthand.

And all of them wished the astronaut a happy Christmas as well as a joyous New Year.

Andrea Mogenson was the first Danish person to go into space when he travelled to the ISS in 2015. This latest mission means he is also the first person from his country to spend Christmas in space.
