The Norwegian Royal Family hosted a magnificent State Banquet for King Carl XVI Gustaf, Queen Silvia and Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden at the Royal Palace of Oslo on this day in 2005, 20 years ago, on their visit to Norway for the Norwegian Centennial, and ahead of the Norwegian Royal Family’s visit to Sweden. The last Swedish State Visit to Norway was in 1993.
Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit joined King Harald V and Queen Sonja as they received King Carl XVI Gustaf, Queen Silvia and Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden to open the new Svinesund bridge between Norway and Sweden.
In the evening, the Norwegian Royal Family hosted a State Banquet at the Royal Palace of Oslo in honour of King Carl XVI Gustaf, Queen Silvia and Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden.
