STRICTLY Come Dancing has been thrown into chaos after ‘running out of time’ for shelving a royal special.

In recent years there had been talks of the popular BBC show being filmed at Buckingham Palace.

In 2022 there “wasn’t enough time” to make it work, according to the MailOnline.

This year, following on from the death of Queen Elizabeth II, and King Charles II’s coronation, it also won’t be happening.

The BBC have confirmed to the publication that it won’t go ahead, and also added there has been no falling out, according to their royal sources.

Last year The Sun revealed Charles and wife Camilla plan to host a live episode of Strictly from Buckingham Palace.

The royals made the incredible offer in secret talks with the show’s BBC bosses — and Charles, 74, and Strictly superfan Camilla, 75, may even dance.

The Queen has given her royal blessing for the historic episode to be hosted from the Palace ballroom later this year.

A source said at the time: “Charles and Camilla are very much driving this and the BBC couldn’t quite believe what was being offered.

“Strictly at Buckingham Palace is just TV dreamland. It should be a wonderful spectacle.”

It’s not long to go until the dancing competition returns to our screens for its 21st series.

The show runs between the back end of September all the way up until December.

There has been plenty of talk about who will be taking part of Strictly 2023.

Earlier this month The Sun revealed former newsreader Angela Rippon is in talks to waltz in to Strictly at the age of 78 — making her the show’s oldest contestant yet.

Angela has plenty of dance form having hosted the previous incarnation of the BBC show between 1988 and 1991, then returning in 1998 before it ended.

The programme have reportedly also signed up their first ever Love Island contestant for the 2023 series.

Zara McDermott, 26, who took part in the ITV2 programme in 2018, will show off her best moves on the dance floor later this year.

It is believed that Zara will “attract more younger people to watch the show” and it will also able her to “further her career” with the Beeb.

“Zara is the perfect signing for Strictly, not only is she beautiful and glamorous but she is hardworking and will take being on the show very seriously,” a source told MailOnline.
