The Royal Hashemite Court in Jordan has shut down rumours of an Italian wedding celebration for Crown Prince Hussein and Rajwa Al Saif.
A source at the Royal Hashemite Court told the media, “All celebrations related to the wedding of Crown Prince Al Hussein and Miss Rajwa will be taking place strictly in Jordan, and there is no intention to hold any celebration related to the occasion outside the kingdom.”
The statement came after an Italian newspaper claimed a royal celebration was due to take place on 10 June in Sardinia after the couple tie the knot in Jordan on 1 June.
Il Messaggero reported environmentalists are protesting a large gazebo on the estate of Villa Joy that stands at over ten metres high, 50 metres long and 30 metres wide.
The Legal Intervention Group is concerned that the correct environmental checks did not take place. A spokesperson for the group, Stefano Deliperi, said: “Laws in force establish a landscape constraint and a specific integral conservation constraint to protect the 300-metre strip from the seashore.”
The local mayor has said an investigation is being conducted regarding the gazebo.
Crown Prince Hussein and Saudi-born Rajwa Al Saif will wed on 1 June at Zahran Palace, with many royals and foreign dignitaries in attendance.
The pair became engaged in Saudi Arabia in August 2022.
