Reception at Buckingham Palace | Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla | Royal Guests
Royalty and Heads of State from around the world gathered to join the British Royal Family for the spectacular Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla at Westminster Abbey yesterday, following a Reception for Royalty and Heads of State at Buckingham Palace as well as a Dinner where we had the pleasure to see most members of the British Royal Family and the Royals attending the Coronation.
A major departure from previous Coronations, several fellow Sovereigns joined the Royal Family to witness the Coronation, which had not been done previously as the King should be the highest ranking individual at the Coronation.
Sweden was represented by King Carl XVI Gustaf and Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden (wearing King Carl XVI Gustaf’s Portrait Brooch).
King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands (in the House Diamond Earrings and Queen Emma’s Diamond Brooch) represented The Netherlands, but Princess Beatrix of The Netherlands and the Princess of Orange attended the Reception.
Spain was represented by King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain (in Queen Victoria Eugenie’s Diamond Earrings), who also attended the Reception but jot the Dinner.
The Belgians were represented by King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium (wearing her Diamond Butterfly Brooch), though King Philippe and the Duchess of Brabant (wearing Queen Mathilde’s Diamond Fringe Earrings) attended the Reception.
From Jordan, King Abdullah II and Queen Rania of Jordan attended both the Reception and the Coronation Ceremony at Westminster Abbey.
Bhutan was represented by the galmorous King Jigme and Queen Jetsun Pema of Bhutan.
King Abdullah and Queen Azizah of Malaysia (in the Kalung Diraja Brooches) represented Malaysia and also attended the Reception and Dinner.
From Thailand came King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Queen Suthida of Thailand (in Queen Sirikit’s Sapphire Suite and Queen Sirikit’s Diamond Bracelets) who also attended the Reception at Buckingham Palace.
King Tupou VI and Queen Nanasipauʻu Tukuʻaho of Tonga represented the Island Kingdom of Tonga.
Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei attended the Coronation Ceremony and Reception along with his son, Prince Mateen of Brunei.
From Lesotho came King Letsie III and Queen ‘Masenate Mohato Seeiso of Lesotho
The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg was present through Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg (wearing her Black and White Pearl Earrings), who wore the Emerald Peacock Necklace for the Reception at Buckingham Palace.
King Mswati of Eswatini was present with one of his wives.
Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco represented the tiny Mediterranean Principality.
Hereditary Prince Alois and Hereditary Princess Sophie of Liechtenstein were present from the small Alpine Principality.
Denmark was represented by Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark (in Antique Turquoise Earrings and Brooch), who attended both the Reception at the Palace and the Dinner afterwards.
The Norwegian Royal Family ere represented though Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway (wearing Royal Family Order of King Harald V of Norway).
Crown Prince Akishino and Crown Princess Kiko of Japan attended the Coronation as well as the Reception at Buckingham Palace and the Dinner for Foreign Royal Guests afterwards.
As close friends and family, Queen Anne-Marie of Greece was joined by Crown Prince Pavlos and Crown Princess Marie-Chantal to attend the Coronation, as well as the Reception and the Dinner.
The Bulgarian Royal Family were represented through Tsar Simeon II and Tsaritsa Margarita of Bulgaria.
Margareta, Custodian of the Crown of Romania (in Queen Helen’s Fleur-de-Lys Brooch) was present along with Prince Radu.
Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine of Serbia (wearing her Diamond Chain-Link Suite) were also at the Coronation.
The Emir of Qatar was joined by his wife, the Sheikha.
